Cannondale Factory Racing had a tremendous start to the World Championships in Canberra. At the Team Relay, Marco Aurelio Fontana took home the title with his teammates from the Italian Federation and with that added some rainbow stripes to his sleeves.
 
“I was the guy for the start but did not start really well. At a wider track, I was able to sprint forward and catch up with the leading Swiss and Swedish guys,” Fontana said after the award ceremony and wearing his first rainbow jersey. “Once in the lead I felt super strong. Together with Vogel and Lindgren I came to the changing zone and handed the baton over to our Junior Gerhard Kerschbaumer. This victory felt great and I feel very confident now on the course because I have one title already. For my bike, I choose to ride with the Flash because it is so light and fast and fits me perfectly on this track. I will ride the Flash again on Saturday,” Fontana said. Read the full story

The entire GripGrab team wish Marco congratulations with his first World Championship medal. Marco will now be entitled to wear the rainbow stripes not only on his jersey but also on the special version of the Racing gloves already worn by Roel Paulissen.
